She didn’t do anything wrong, but despite her constant purrs and devotion, Ester was abandoned. We don’t know her exact age, but she is one of the oldest cats to ever landed in our care.
We found her fur matted with feces, other bits of fur missing, and her joints aching beyond belief. Both her sight and hearing are beginning to fail due to her age and a lack of proper care. But, we held her close and assured her that she’s safe with us now.
We gave her a bath, ran diagnostic tests, and performed a much-needed dental cleaning before sending her to a loving Atlanta Humane Society foster home. There, she will be loved and cared for around-the-clock as she begins to heal from past neglect.
Despite the fact that Ester was abandoned, she is the sweetest cat. This sweetheart will crawl into anyone’s lap and nuzzle them for extra petting. She deserves the most comfortable end-of-life care possible, and we are determined to make sure she gets exactly what she needs.
